Convention Rates
Registered teachers/owners are permitted to take classes or observe at any level throughout our event. Registered assistant teachers are permitted to gain access to any classroom throughout our event. Dancers must dance in their designated ballroom at all times.

First-time studio offer: Mini and Little Star dancers are gifted one free observer band that will gain access to those designated rooms only. Observer bands cost $20 per observer for our junior, teen, and senior rooms and can be purchased at the event table or online during the online registration process.
Rules & Guidelines
All entries must be completed online through Dance Comp Genie and paid in full 30 days from the start day of the convention to avoid any late fees. Directors, check your entries carefully. Make sure you have the dancers entered in the correct class level.
The Sword will continue to honor a studio’s full refund policy if an event must be canceled due to unexpected events.
Detailed rules and guidelines will be administered upon registering.

At The Sword we believe that each dancer has a unique individual gift. We believe when people dance, they can release beauty into the atmosphere. With the awards listed below we like to acknowledge those who use dance to spread these special attributes.

Studio Scholarship
Each studio owner will be able to choose one member from their studio to receive a scholarship to The Sword. Studio owners will submit their nominations during the showcase at the registration table.
This scholarship may only be redeemed by the dancer who won the award. Studio scholarship may be used ONE time only and must be redeemed within 12 months from the award date.
Dancer of the Weekend
This award is one FULL scholarship awarded to ONE dancer in the Mini/Junior room and ONE dancer in the Teen/Senior room! We choose dancers who not only excel in classes, but dancers who make the weekend better for everyone attending The Sword! We look for dancers who are worshiping and dancing from a pure heart. This award goes to dancers who are bold and confident in who Christ has made them to be. We award this particular scholarship to dancers who stand out to all the faculty!
Assistant Invite Scholarship
This award is one FULL scholarship and a chance to be an assistant.
The assistant scholarship is a prestigious offer from The Sword. Only a few dancers receive it at each event. We hold this award to the highest standard. Our faculty comes together in prayer before awarding the assistant scholarships. This scholarship conveys that a dancer stood out during our event and means that The Sword staff recognizes the dancer’s bright future. We hand-pick dancers that we would like to mentor and guide into following what God has for their dance career.
- This scholarship may only be redeemed by the dancer who won the award. This deal is only valid for ONE year. Assistant invite acceptance is optional. The dancer will still have ONE year of a full scholarship, but won’t be able to assist teachers or hold the title of The Sword Assistant if declined. More information will be distributed to winners.

The Mission
Our mission at The Sword Dance Convention is to leave dancers inspired for a lifetime by training them to unlock a divine power when they move and create. Our convention shapes dancers into who they are created to be and revives a new purpose within them. Our goal at The Sword is to renew dancers from the perfectionism and striving that hinders their unique beauty from shining through.
Our faculty is well-equipped to minister to the hearts of dancers while bringing their technique to a new level. Their heart behind teaching will leave dancers inspired and marked for a lifetime. They have a deep passion to share experiences of their own, which not only grow dancers technically but also spiritually and emotionally. Our faculty is eager to reach a generation of dancers whose hearts are burning for something more than just dance.
The Sword is a safe space for dancers to break out of self-doubt and into a new level of freedom while dancing. We believe this generation’s dancers are made for such a time as this, and it’s time that they find their sword that unlocks a new dance of power and dignity. Dancers will walk away from The Sword with new strength and resolve to take on life through the art of dance.
